During the mid-80s and early 90s Movin’ Records defined the New Jersey sound. A skate-shop-turned-record-store run by the so-called “fairy godmother of house” Abigail Adams, Movin’s first output was ‘I’ve Got The Music’ by Boyd Jarvis in 1987, followed by music from game changers Blaze, Kerri Chandler, Tony Humphries and Smack; straight up “Jersey jams” that producers are still attempting to replicate to this day. Still the Movin’ Records catalogue throws up gems that sound super fresh along with plenty of lightbulb moments of musical discovery.

Originally released in 1988 ‘Just Started ‘ is a pure underground ‘Garage’ classic in every sense. Taking it’s influences from the disco, gospel and R&B genre the track shows the direct lineage of the 70s sound from Philadelphia and Salsoul.
One of only 2 releases from LaChandra, this follows up her 1987 hit Shy Girl, written and produced by Blaze, who at the time consisted of the now famed duo Kevin Hedge and Josh Milan plus a third member Chris Herbert. Accompanied by the vocal talents of LaChandra the four were able to produce a piece of music that has stood the test of time. As well as the original Movin’ Records mixes, we also have a DJ friendly Blaze Club mix and an underground Dub mix to add to the package.
